Errors and retry

Workspace reads require current membership; workspace and invitation administration requires an administrator, while creation requires account-level mcp:teams. Invalid/duplicate slugs or pending emails are rejected; unknown or cross-workspace invitations return not found, and accepted invitations cannot be changed or cancelled. Calls are limited to 120 per user per minute.

Reads are safe to retry. Before retrying workspace or invitation creation after an ambiguous response, list current workspaces or invitations. Updates may be retried after reading current state; never blindly repeat workspace deletion or invitation cancellation.

Effects, limits, and source

Workspace roles, subscription and AI usage limits, approval rules, and server rate limits are enforced at call time. Rate-limit responses identify when to retry; scheduled work returns state rather than holding the request open.
