Despite graduating from UC Berkeley and having worked at top tech companies, I still experienced setbacks like impostor syndrome early in my career. The SPARC (Non-Profit) team ( Sonia Sng Jessie Salas Florence Kwok ) and I spent this weekend reflecting on our own experiences and hashing out SPARC’s mentors + mentees program and learning curriculum with a focus on growth mindset, social mentorship, developing good habits, and paying forward. SPARC will focus on empowering students from disadvantaged socioeconomic backgrounds, think low income and first generation! To do so, we’ll first partner with low income schools in the Bay Area and programs like AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination)!
