When a plane takes off, it takes off into the wind. For the first 5-15 mins it’s goal is only to gain altitude, to trim its wing to be more efficient and go further, to get to what it’s made to do, fly. The distance covered in that time is often in the wrong direction or not far. It doesn’t matter in the scheme of things . In a non patronizing way, this always seems like how people should think of the first jobs in their career. A lot of people think they have to pick very carefully to ensure it’s heading them in the right direction. In reality it’s more important to get airborne.
