This is pretty impressive. MrBeast ( Jimmy Donaldson ), a YouTube star with nearly 50 million highly engaged followers, just launched a burger restaurant with over 300 locations across the United States…without signing a single lease. He did this by partnering with Virtual Dining Concepts . Basically using "ghost kitchens" to provide all of the operations. It started with a single physical MrBeast Burger pop-up burger joint that gave away free food and cash. Some even got free iPads. Needless to say, it got covered. Soon after he made the announcement that you could order his food in over 300 locations via delivery apps like Uber Eats or Postmates Inc. And for every burger purchased, money will be donated to help feed hungry families. A social media influencer has created an instant virtual fast-food restaurant chain with low overhead costs, a built-in audience, AND has built giving back to the community into the model. Think about that the next time you hear someone disparaging "influencers" as a group.
