First Ever—This is news all Americans should celebrate! There was another history-making military achievement this week. A female Army National Guard soldier graduated from the grueling Special Forces, making her the first woman to join the Green Berets. I was raised in a family where both my mom and dad told all their children that, with hard work and grit, we could be anything we wanted to be. These were Big Words coming from people who lived in an era when women typically stayed home to care for ‘the family.’ And when I met my husband, I learned that his Great Aunt was Emilia Earhart—a true and early—Womaneer!
