I learned about #ChadwickBoseman ’s death at the end of a 17-hour day, after covering the 57th Anniversary of the #MarchOnWashington . It was also near the end of the longest August I’ve endured for some time. Not only has #COVID19 worn all of us down, but I spent the month mourning my oldest sister Julie, who would have turned 70 on August 17th. Colon cancer was the only thing strong enough to kill Julie. She was my “life mentor,” and also my superhero. So as I spent last weekend continuing to report for National Geographic , two powerful engines fueled my journey.
