Starting the week on a high, sending congratulations to photojournalists Lynsey Addario and Nichole Sobecki ! Their work was included in National Geographic 's ranking of the "50 Best Photos From 2019--So Far." Lynsey's photos included one of Edna Adan Ismail overseeing a #maternalhealth clinic in Habasweyn, #Somaliland . NIchole captured a young girl--the sole survivor of the #Ebola virus that killed the rest of her immediate family--near Butembo, in the Democratic Republic of Congo. I wrote the stories that accompanied their amazing work, and it's thrilling to think that I collaborated with some of the best photojournalists in the business today.
