For #ThrowbackThursday , it's only appropriate that I post this photo from April 2003, during my first trip to the African continent. It was at The W. E. B. Du Bois Memorial Centre for Panafrican Culture in Accra, #Ghana . I was so awed during the tour that I almost forgot to ask someone to take a picture of me near the tomb of the legendary African American scholar, activist and intellectual giant. Right before we headed to the waiting van, I shoved my camera at the nearest person and captured this image. This is where it all began. That moment is why I'm sitting in a cafe in Nairobi, #Kenya at this moment, during the best #BlackHistoryMonth I've ever had.
