For #ThrowbackThursday --May 2, 2018, the first time I ever set foot inside National Geographic Headquarters in Washington, DC. There was no way I could predict where that journey would lead. All I knew was that I’d landed an assignment to report about #maternalmortality for NatGeo Magazine. Oh, and that I would be working with one of the coolest, funniest, REAL-est famous people I’ve ever encountered—celebrated photojournalist and The New York Times best-selling author Lynsey Addario . That day launched one of the most intense, challenging and awe-inspiring journalism experiences ever.
