As the GlobalCitizen #Mandela100 Festival kicks off in #Johannesburg , I can’t help remembering the impact #NelsonMandela had on my life. Writing about his imprisonment for my high school Senior Thesis in 1979. Meeting Madiba in 1994. Touring #RobbenIsland in 2012. Living and working on the Continent when he made his transition in 2013. In his honor, I strive to join the millions of young people around the world who want to #BeTheGeneration that helps to end #extremepoverty . Or as the legend himself stated: “Overcoming poverty is not a task of charity, it is an act of justice. Like slavery and apartheid, #poverty is not natural.
