For #MondayMotivation , just try to keep up with Betsy Wade if you dare. She is a journalism legend and has been such a dear friend to me. At 89, her energy and sheer force of will are a phenomenal inspiration. But Betsy’s most precious gift to the women in her life is that of mindful, loving mentorship. As we gave each other big JAWdess hugs at the airport in Portland, Betsy kissed my cheek and said, “You are who I would have wanted to be if I had had the choice.” I’m typing this post through stunned tears of pride that a woman like Betsy would want to be a woman like me.
