What a wonderful reunion I had with one of the very first #socialjustice advocates I've ever known--who just happened to be a fellow student at Northwestern University back in 1979. neil boyer was one of the leaders of the Black Student Union at NU, and he deftly modeled activism for a purpose during the years I observed him in action. But even I couldn't have predicted the scope of his vision! Neil has had an incredible career in #globaldevelopment and #economics , with organizations like UNDP , Africare and the Peace Corps . He's lived in the #CentralAfricanRepublic , #Namibia , #Lesotho , #Swaziland , The #Gambia and #SouthAfrica .  And he's still just as righteous and conscious as ever, organizing environmental strategy for the Peace Corps. Re-connecting with Neil reminded me of why I was so eager to support health and development reporting on the African continent.
