I cannot remember the last time I wore makeup and a dress to the airport.... Wait, have I EVER worn makeup and a dress to the airport??? But I’ve learned a very valuable lesson this morning, and feel compelled to share it with all my LinkedIn colleagues: "People treat you a lot differently when you don’t look like a bedraggled, middle-aged Muppet."  In other words, dress like how you want people to treat you. So I’ll be trying to sustain this professional energy going forward, even for those long haul flights when comfort and sleep are the main priorities.
