This particular #FlashbackFriday image isn't ancient; it's from about 7 or 8 years ago, when my locks were still stubbornly refusing to grow. But it's an important image for me, because I'm with Juliette J Mutheu-Asego , one of the first people I met in #Kenya who actually "got" what I was doing over there, trying to mentor journalists to report on #health and #research issues. Juliette co-founded the Kenya Science Cafe  movement, and worked for the KEMRI - Wellcome Trust  Research Programme. We became #sciencecommunication partners in crime, and also good friends. And I'm so proud to have witnessed Juliette's career journey to its current location: Head of Communications and PR for the African Academy of Sciences .
