On the same day as another mass shooting in an American church, I’m hearing from Brandon Risher, M.A., L.P.A. , a psychologist at            Presbyterian Psychological Services. His grandmother was one of nine people murdered by a white supremacist at Emanuel AME Zion Church in Charleston, SC in June of 2015. Risher is speaking at a forum on Mental Health at Caldwell Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, organized in part by the Charlotte Mecklenburg Opportunity Task Force. Clearly, there’s a significant gap in mental health services from Charlotte’s poor and those living on the margins.
