Will digital technologies replace physicians? No. But do check out my infographic on how different medical professions will be impacted by automation! I created it by looking at the top 20 medical specialties and the impact of automation on them. On one axis, I differentiate between more repetitive and more creative types of medical professions. E.g. dermatology versus internal medicine. On the other, I sort them out based on whether they’re more interaction-based or data-based. E.g. psychiatry versus radiology. I then inserted the different professions into this matrix and checked what kind of future awaits each. Naturally, they all get impacted differently, and here I’m focusing on the impact and not the categories. Inserting these professions into the matrix was my subjective choice.
