I'm a US citizen, an immigrant, and unapologetically American. And as such, I believe America to be a nation founded on the principles of freedom from oppression, compassion and generosity. The America I know did not turn my family and I away when we fled from tyranny. The America I know should not do so now, or ever, for those that seek its shelter, peace, and love.
