Finally, the study we’ve been waiting for since the beginning of the pandemic is out! It obtained data from wearable trackers from over 30,000 people to find out whether the data can be used to differentiate between asymptomatic and symptomatic COVID patients. They also aimed at spotting pre-symptomatic individuals early. "Our results show that individual changes in physiological measures captured by most smartwatches and activity trackers are able to significantly improve the distinction between symptomatic individuals with and without a diagnosis of COVID-19 beyond symptoms alone." They will keep on expanding the cohort but it’s already a staggering result and shows a bright vision for digital health.
