Here's a simple truth: If you can’t take care of yourself, you can’t take care of others. In order to take care of yourself, you must first outline your values. And how do we know if we're living out our values? We turn them into time. In order to live with personal integrity and on our own terms, we must schedule our time in alignment with our values. If health is important to you, set aside time to go for a walk. If education is one of your values, make time to read. If you want to maintain a close relationship with your friends during the pandemic, put that Zoom call on the calendar. If we don't schedule time for our values, there's no way to know whether or not we're living by them.
