One time, my daughter and I were doing a Daddy-Daughter interview activity. My question to her was, “If you could have any superpower, what superpower would you want?” I wish I could tell you what my daughter said, but I was distracted and on my device, doing some unrelated task. I regret having blown this great chance to bond with my daughter. Every self-help book I found told me that technology was the problem and I did everything I could to counter this, even getting rid of my iPhone. It didn’t work, as I found that getting a flip phone and a 90s word processor to type weren’t preventing me from getting distracted.
