To me, it shows how to turn a promise into a proof, also giving a boost to digital biomarkers. I had a quick chat with him. - Can you please summarize the findings of your study? We've developed an algorithm that can detect diabetes using heart pulse recorded by a smartphone camera. Enabling an early detection of Type 2 diabetes with just a smartphone. - How do you expect the field of biomarkers to change based on studies like yours? Digital biomarkers are easy and low cost to measure and have a potential to allow early detection of diseases that would otherwise not be possible. One of the main problems with Type 2 diabetes is late diagnosis. Our algorithm will help catch this chronic disease faster. - Do you think that the hardware of a general smartphone would be enough to add insights to diabetes management? Absolutely.
