Some COVID-19 updates this morning. Challenging times yield creative solutions. We hear a lot of 3D printing projects growing out of local Maker communities worldwide to tackle the supply chain issues of the pandemic. A Canadian doctor who works in Gaza just made 3D printed face shields. On Facebook, there are many new groups dedicated to connecting designers and engineers who can help those in need. In the UK, Babylon Health introduced a digital care assistant, essentially a chatbot, to advise people how to diagnose and manage suspected COVID-19 infections. It provides guidance via six steps, starting with general information on the outbreak and advice on self-isolation. As I receive a lot of questions from you whether any digital health tech could detect the infection in time, it's not surprising to see that a new study will evaluate the smart ring, Oura , that takes people’s temperatures in an attempt to identify people who have virus early. More than 2,000 emergency medical workers in California will participate in it. I'll share the results as soon as they are out.
