Congratulations to the Netherlands, which just got one step closer to patient empowerment! Bruno Bruins, the Dutch minister for medical care pledged 75 million EUR to make medical data available for all patients online - commenting: “With this €75 million grant I want to make it possible for patients to take control of their own medical data." A similar idea has already been implemented successfully in Denmark and Sweden, to the satisfaction of patients and caregivers alike - we wrote about such best practices recently, and I'm glad we can augment the list next time with this Dutch example!
