Thanks to the US Consulate General in Japan, I played sensai (teacher) today at Osaka Jogakuin University today to a packed classroom of 80+ female university students! OJ is an all-female junior & senior high school + university + graduates school, established since 1884. It was rebuilt after being completely destroyed during World War II, and is now developing women talents fluent in English and business. Because SoGal was founded as a student organisation during my grad school days, I always enjoy going to campuses and interacting with next gen women. What I told the students today was: 1) women’s no.1 mistake is to underestimate ourselves. 2) Find your inner voice and let it be heard, whether it’s in politics, business or your family. 3) gender investing gap needs to be filled by young women who are savvy enough to save and invest, because consumerism and capitalism only make the rich even richer.
