I never wanted to be known as a black entrepreneur. Race was always something that I wanted to be left out of my story. I didn't want to be the best "black" (fill in the blank)... I just wanted to be the best. I've come to see a major flaw in my thinking. Growing up we are told in our families and communities that blackness is power. But the world tells us that blackness is synonymous with being unintelligent, poor, angry, [fill in the blank]. And whether I wanted to believe that or not, there is a part of me that has accepted that as a reality as well. Hence, not wanting to be called a black entrepreneur. I've been thinking a lot about everyone that is going to come after me, the lack of role models I have had in my life, and how important representation really is across the board. So... to my fellow minority, and underrepresented, business owners: own it. Someone out there is counting on you to show up. Someone out there is counting on you to win so that they can know that they can win too. #justQ 🖖🏽🖤 @Rich Cardona , I appreciate you having me on your show!
