I've never really talked about this.. But the most impactful purchase I've ever made was a $40 hat on sale. It changed my life. It was one of the first purchases I made after struggling for so long trying to build my first two businesses. I wanted to be instantly recognizable and I wanted something to contribute to the Misfits brand/narrative that I was building. It's become my brand anchor. The most iconic one for me. And it sends a message about what kind of person I am before I even open my mouth. I used to think that how I dressed didn't matter. But even "not caring" sends a message. So ask yourself who do you want to be? What message do you want to send? And lastly, what message are you sending? And then make sure those things are aligned.
