Our company has officially more than doubled in size. We have a team of 10 (eleven if you include my pup). It's awesome looking back to see how far we've come in a short time... but even cooler looking to the future. Here are some things that we've done differently than my previous ventures that failed in the past. - Being intentional about the culture we have/intend to build. This will turn off many people from working with you, but will attract the RIGHT people. - We & I. We work as a group and we help everyone individually as well. One of the first questions we ask when hiring is "how can we bring value to you?" - Being honest even when it hurts. This took me a while to figure out a balance. But I'm a very blunt person. We make less mistakes that way and grow closer as a team when we just say it as it is. - Going to the talent... not relying on the talent coming to us. We get resumes and requests to work with us every day. Which is incredible. But one thing we learned early on is that [typically for us] the people that are the best fit are already employed or not looking. You have to be proactive & patient.
