As a marketer, I'm amazed by those who "aren't marketers" and yet who are actually the most amazing marketers I've ever met. The most recent example for me is Nimantha Gayan Perera . He's the top Google Data Studio expert in the world. I found him because every time I search for answers to complex DS questions, his answers are always the best. Because I saw him everywhere, I assumed he'd be too busy to work with us, but I reached out anyway and have been so impressed. He answers the hardest questions on the Data Studio forums and StackOverflow, always with a video showing exactly how to implement the solution. He totally owns the topic. These posts are evergreen and bring organic, referral traffic. He goes by Nimantha online because it's an uncommon name and it's easy to remember. He intuitively understood personal branding. He's incredible at spreadsheets and about every data tool out there, but he's built his brand on Data Studio because it was less crowded. He gets niching down and specializing. When talking to him, it's never about the money. He understands building relationships, loyalty, and trust.
