After my step Dad graduated from the University of Illinois at Champaign Urbana he took a job with the ILO as a productivity expert and our family began to travel the world moving to a new country every two years. I've been everywhere, Cyprus, Cambodia, Tunisia, Ethiopia and all over Europe. During our travels George introduced me to the most eclectic foods and wines the world has to offer. I was particularly fond of German Black Forest Cake. To make this delicacy you need to understand the delicate balance between the cream, the kirsch soaked cherries, the chocolate cake layers and the crispy thin brittle chocolate that provides the subtle "crunch". Today, most attempts to make Black Forest Chocolate Cherry Cake are dismal failures. No one wants to invest the time it takes. I am changing all that. I have been working with a team of pastry chefs for 5 months to bring the world's best back. I made the way it was baked decades ago, no corners cut! Now I am about to unleash it on the world.
