Unless you want to burn out, you need to learn an essential #leadership lesson: protect your #time . Here's how: Establish #boundaries Maintaining a healthy balance by making it clear that you'll respond to work messages during business hours and within a day. Learn to say no Become more discerning with your time. Saying no to the people and things that don't support your goals will give you more time to say yes to those that do. Empower your team Trust the smart folks you've hired to do their jobs without you and keep you in the loop, freeing you up to focus on what matters most. Resist the urge to multi-task Multi-tasking destroys #clarity , which is essential for #productivity . When you're working, be singularly focused on it; when you're not, be fully present in your non-work activity. Eliminate distractions Turn off notifications, click out of tabs, put your phone on airplane mode, close your door or use noise-canceling headphones. Do whatever it takes to help you focus on the matter at hand. Work with your body's natural rhythms Block out your peak for your most important work and save mundane tasks for later. Carve out non-negotiable time for what matters most Replenish yourself with whatever (or whomever) fills your tank, and make that time non-negotiable.
