Here’s what to do when you’re feeling unproductive: Redefine what #productivity looks like Productivity might be getting through a team Zoom call without your toddler interrupting, or managing to connect with all of your clients to see how they’re holding up. Take a break to gain perspective Sometimes the best way to be productive is to take the time to rest and reflect, allowing us to leverage the one aspect we can control: our perspective. Cut yourself—and your brain—some slack During periods of ongoing stress, our brains are wired to shut down logical thinking in favor of reactiveness to protect us from the perceived threat uncertainty brings. Be kind to yourself; it’s just your normal neurobiology. Distinguish between busy & productive Being busy can leave you wondering what you’ve accomplished. To feel more productive, establish boundaries and manage your time, treating it like the valuable and precious commodity it is. Take one action toward your goal, however small Productivity rarely comes down to grandiose gestures; it’s the small actions, done consistently over time, that matter most. Don’t forget to track & celebrate your #progress Keep track of the small wins and refer back to them when you need a boost of motivation and encouragement. #career
