As I've been quite active physically since I was a kid, I've broken many limbs and had plaster casts for weeks. When I first tried the Exovite 3D printed cast, it was a vastly different experience.  I could have a shower while having the cast on, it was very light and my arm was not itchy at all. Also, they add a muscle stimulation device to the cast so patients can start rehabilitation still while having the cast.
