So, I recently learned that my mom and dad often danced in the den of their home when they go home from a dinner out or some event. They did this into their 70's and 80's. They rolled up the rug, enjoyed a drink and danced to close out the evening. What a romantic notion --- a tradition I never knew about and one that seemed so so warm and loving. My dad passed away in 2008 and my mom recently remarked that she had not danced at night since then and missed my dad and dancing. She is now 89. So, I recruited my partner and he agreed to dance with my mom this week-end --- rug rolled up, drink in background and old fashioned music. Tradition revived for a night. A gift to my mom and one amazing partner I have who is willing to allow time to stop for just a moment to remember the past and create a memory. Thanks MW. …see more
