I GOT SHOT! Don Delucca, former police Chief of Miami Beach and former head of the International Association of Police Chiefs, shot me. I deserved it. In early 2016, Scot Cohen and I were trying to solve a problem. Everybody says BS about entrepreneurship that it's all about "hustle!" or "killing it!" or worse: "not everyone is meant to be an entrepreneur." This is all a myth. Entrepreneurship is about thoughtfully solving huge real world problems. Not about "hustling" or apps or other BS. Here's the problem we were discussing: why are so many mentally ill people and minorities getting shot and killed. Even when they are tased, they are often killed. 50,000 volts is a lot. Is there a safer solution? A non-lethal one? We brainstormed. Scot called an inventor he used to work with who had invented a sound gun. "Won't work," the guy said. But he had another idea.
