500+ connections
How to use your friends as personal recruiters when you look for new opportunities? One of the best tips I have for job seekers is to use friends and professional networks but, how to do it effectively? 1. Lookup for all of your 1st connections on LinkedIn, then organize them by- people that know you personally and can validate your work[from school, past companies, etc] 2. Reach out to every one of these connections with a summary about yourself, what you are looking for, and ask them kindly to apply on your behalf to their companies. 3. When they agree [Yay!], ask them to add a few words about your work together and to send it directly to the hiring manager. This has a lot of weight on the CV screening decision. 4. When hiring managers have valid information about you from a friend they trust it and increases your chances to get hired. 5. After passing the CV screening use your friend as your source of information about the company! Ask them about the culture, challenges, and projects, and prepare yourself for the phone screening! Just applying isn't enough these days, the game has changed and you need to do the best. #hr #jobhuting #linkedin #recruitment
