Are you adding a message to the Recruiting person? You should, it’s worth the effort. If you do it right! The way you approach Recruiters is as important as your CV. There’s so much at stake. Yet I still get pinged with messages that immediately disqualify the sender. Here’s how to do it: #DO : Personalize your response. Make it sound like it comes from you. Research. Give us a feeling you know what the company does, and how it relates to YOU. Be Polite. Mention any special ability you have that’s relevant. I’m always looking for a candidate with an edge. End your message with a Call To Action. A simple ‘best regards’ isn’t enough. #DON ’T: Use templates. I spot them immediately. Command us to do anything. You don’t work for me, I don’t work for you.
