So, I was responding to a blog, themommiesreviews.com , about the value of puzzles for children. They can be shared activities; they are fun and they can enable success -- with or without help. I made a puzzle of one of my children's book covers (see image) and I want to encourage others to make puzzles of their favorite children's book covers; it makes the book have new and lasting meaning. And, I have been thinking of selling my books with a puzzle, something that will benefit children who have experienced trauma -- and children more generally. …see more

There is a panel discussion on the book's import and applicability. There are some giveaways. It is, sadly, a book for our time and its real time strategies can help teachers, healthcare professionals, counselors, social workers, community organizations and employers. Hope to "see" you there. We need help dealing with trauma and its symptoms -- which are abundant. Details below. Save the date: June 22 at 5:00 pm EST.... …see more

Many of us have been rightly concerned about what the impact of the Covid outbreak on the Marlins says about and means about professional sports continuing or starting sports at all levels, schools reopening, businesses reopening. At first, I was ready to drawn all sorts of conclusions and inferences. I wasn’t holding back. But... But, I think we need to wait. We need to find out the facts. We need to understand the outbreak. Was it a player or two (or more) who went rogue in Atlanta without permission and/or protection? Where did they go? Was it transmitted on the plane through personnel on board or in the aircraft filters somehow? Was it at any of the hotels with breaks in protocol for hotel workers? Was it families of players or hotel or flight workers? I say “hit the pause bottom“ on conclusions and extrapolations until we know more. Yes, that assumes truth will rise to the surface. Then we can decide what this all means for schools, sports and business. Waiting is wiser .... it just is. Hard yes. But wise. …see more
