Two pieces of free advice when using video in ads on Facebook and Instagram : 1/ Add captions - This at least gives you a shot at catching people scrolling with the sound off (which is the default) and it also helps the hearing impaired who are using these visual media. 2/ Cut to the chase - Remember, when people are scrolling you have a limited window to grab their attention. So many video ads are trying to be too clever by half. Not to say don't be creative, just don't leave out key visual information in the first few seconds. So, I was responding to a blog, themommiesreviews.com , about the value of puzzles for children. They can be shared activities; they are fun and they can enable success -- with or without help. I made a puzzle of one of my children's book covers (see image) and I want to encourage others to make puzzles of their favorite children's book covers; it makes the book have new and lasting meaning.
