A lot of people sat in a lot of meetings, with a lot of vendors to talk about a lot of things and then finally they made this and not one person thought THIS IS A VERY VERY RUDE WAY TO TREAT ANY HUMAN, LET ALONE A CUSTOMER. We spend $500m on Advertising each year, we hope to slowly build awareness, then painstakingly build preference and simply die in search of the holly grain of loyalty. Then the moment a customer wants to ask something, they decide it's not worth their staff's time to serve us. That's a cost, a bot should do. Screw you Delta, screw the calculations, screw the Consultants who make stuff like this because they hold a love of spreadsheets, live to cut costs and are profoundly clueless about the value of service. ( P.s Wasn't my experience, but it bothers me anyone thinks it's OK & I think "screw you" is acceptable emphasis, not offensive?" This isn't a personal first world problem moan, it's a comment on a loss of empathy and thinking in business ) …see more

At TEDxBerkeley, I described personal branding as multi-dimensional. It is beyond just your profession. I am beyond just a marketer. I am a mentor, teacher, immigrant, writer, foodie, and the list goes on. A personal brand starts with you as a person. It is the interconnected web of your interests, passions, and personalities. I illustrated this point with a pinwheel of emojis to humanize the designing of a personal brand (aka it doesn't have to feel rigid or superficial). My talk will be live soon on the official TEDx YouTube channel and I'll be sharing it with you! The seven emojis that define my personal brand? ‍‍‍ (family), ‍(techie), ‍ (foodie), (thoughtful), (nerdy), ‍♂️(initiative), (goofy) What emoji(s) best describe you as a professional, but also a person? Comment below. In two weeks, I will randomly pick one response and send that person (if they live in the US) an emoji plushy that represents their personal brand along with my TEDx talk slide deck signed. I’d guess over 99% of data that is collected is done so without any thought as to what it should be used for. It’s done because we’ve been told it’s valuable, because it’s cheap to get, cheap(ish) to store, and the hope is one day we’ll be glad we have it. Data is like water , too much and not clean enough is a far greater problem than drought. As boring as it sounds, giving some thought to what decisions we’re making from it, how best to capture it, what format to use, how to clean it , how to share, how to keep safe, who owns it, where it’s stored? Are probably the most valuable and rarely asked questions around. …see more

I used to have a terrible fear of public speaking. When I was a freshman in high school, I literally had a panic attack during one of my speeches and ran out of the room.  To be able to speak about #socialmedia, #mentalhealth, and #GenZ across America at 21 years-old is beyond anything I could have ever dreamed of.  If anything, I have found that if you really dedicate time to improving some of your weaknesses, they can turn into some of your biggest strengths.  Thank you to Richard YoungJun Kim  for giving me the opportunity to speak at the Gen Z Takeover in Seattle a couple weeks ago.  Shout out to some of the amazing speakers at the event: Sam Park , Natasha Takahashi , Gregg L. Witt , Joel Hansen , Abhisek Vyas , Ruvim Achapovskiy , and everyone else. …see more

A GREAT idea has to be old and new. It’s a party in your brain! You should do it! Do it with art. Do it with business. Do it for fun. Do it for love. Take an idea from 100 years ago. From yesterday. From 1000 years ago. From your friend. Tell a story around it in modern terms. Make it uniquely yours. I can tell you this, I’ve never had a totally unique idea. I’ve stolen everything in this blog. I never give credit. I never ask for any. I’ve stolen from texts written 2500 years ago. I’ve stolen from blog posts written yesterday. So sue me... http://bit.ly/2iZCtlz …see more

I feel really lucky these days to have a lot of "followers" but for the opposite reason to what people expect or typically want. I now get to post questions or thoughts and to learn from everyone. When I'm wrong I learn the most and most quickly!. I'm no "leader", you are not "followers", I don't care about engagement, or views, I'm just lucky to be able to enable interesting threads. Thank you to everyone. If you have things you ponder on, maybe send them to me to start new threads so we can learn from the expertise on here. …see more

#AI in #healthcare is here and now: https://lnkd.in/fwEixiR AI powered technologies often come to mind when one thinks of a futuristic society. Of all the industries AI is set to #disrupt, healthcare will be at the forefront. Applications of AI range from drug discovery to diagnostics. As per CB Insights, “Healthcare is the hottest area of startup investment”. Over 300 #startups raised their first equity rounds since 2016, with investors pumping over $3.6B since 2013. In a crucial move this spring, #FDA for the first time approved an AI powered device to diagnose diabetic retinopathy without the need of a clinician. The device IDx-DR analyzes images taken by a retinal camera & provides a screening decision. Since April 2018, FDA has approved 3 more devices, essentially mainstreaming AI in healthcare. FDA's new guidelines to classify AI powered image analysis as Class II devices will reduce time required for approval. This is a significant breakthrough with far reaching effects. Especially, in a country like ours, where there is an acute shortage of radiologists, with just 1 for every 100,000 of population.  AI in healthcare is no longer an idea of the future, it's already here. I really think Linkedin has huge potential, but a lot needs to change......... This is a great place to have conversations, threads, to listen to each other. It being tied to our "professional self" makes people behave properly and respectfully and to think. But the design isn't optimized for that. Threading is super hard, even searching the names to include uses some very strange algorithm. And whatever the case, we have to get rid of the endless "voice to camera" boastful videos. You feel like Linkedin doesn't know what it wants to be, is it for networking with those you know? Is it a social media platform for everything? A blogging and content platform? Whatever it wants to be it involves saying no to some things and improving the design, please make it happen. …see more

Big influencers lose thousands of followers when they don't post. Streamers lost thousands of subscribers when they don't go live. Often times, because of that they're losing thousands (sometimes more) of dollars. That being said, no amount of subscriptions/followers are worth compromising your mental health. Knowing when not to post is just as important as knowing when to post. Take a day off if you need it. No shame. #justQ 🖖🏽🖤 …see more
