Trillions of dollars of our Attention have been siphoned off by Coronavirus — Time Magazine's Most Influential Organism of the Year. This crisis should be good news for media companies with skyrocketing audiences they haven't seen since the crisis of Trump's election. But media companies are struggling to survive because advertising budgets are frozen like deer in the headlights of a monster truck. Too bad because the winners emerging from the post-pandemic recession will be the ones that spot the arbitrage opportunities: Buy low --sell high. Buy advertising low -- sell more stuff.
