Most companies don’t want the very best people. They want the very same people. It’s sheer insanity and utterly pervasive. I’m total baffled as how if we are really honest , we often think of diversity ( in all forms) as “the right thing to do” rather than it being utterly obvious that it’s “the best thing to do”. It’s not fairness , it’s essential. It’s not a process , it’s a value. Experience is another baffling requirement, I love teams with width and depth. 6 years in a similar jobs means there is likely to be nothing new they bring to the table, they will be highly compliant and massively competent, what an insane missed opportunity for massive brilliance, a new perspective, a challenging mind …see more

20 Free Gifts?! Yes Please! In my 20 Tips in 2020 series, I share a golden nugget of info regularly so you can ACE your brand to land deals, increase sales, and boost your bottom line. ➡ Today, I'm sharing Tip 8: CONSISTENCY Consistency is incredibly important for your brand. Whether you show up every day with your own unique content, or you show up to engage (like, comment, share) your community's content, it matters. Consistency is key to generating brand awareness. When your prospects see your name all over social media they'll recall you when they are further into the pipeline and ready to make their purchase. Let's talk COOKIES 🍪🥛 Let's say, for example, you bake world-renowned chocolate chip cookies that keep your customers coming back. One day, you decide to throw dried cherries into your batch. When that loyal client bites into your delicious treats to be surprised by dried fruit, they will be completely surprised and not in a good way. 🍒 Strong brands must stay consistent but flexible enough for experimentation. How do you stay consistent? #sales #personalbranding #chantelshares …see more

I've been using the LinkedIn Newsletter beta feature. 👇 It's been a game changer. The reach is nowhere near my videos, but the results have been amazing: ✅ A large chunk of my 2020 speaking schedule is booked out. ✅ Increased numbers in our social media groups. ✅ I was able to launch my new solo #esports podcast and gain extra exposure there. ✅ Increase of follower growth. ✅ Leads for my company. My newsletter [Dear Strange People] is a series where I dive into the decisions I'm making from a personal branding, community building, and business perspective. But here is what I'm loving most: It is giving me space to be more creative with videos, because I can focus more on thought leadership in my articles. In a world where it's hard NOT to just show the highlight reel. If you can find a way to be real and dive deeper, you're more than likely going to have better results. Just something to think about for all the content creators out there. Quantity is important. But quality & depth will help you build deeper relationships. #justQ 🖖🏾🖤 #entrepreneurship …see more

When it comes to inflation, the vast majority of economists and Wall Street analysts agree the short-term risk is low -- mainly, but not only, due to the damage suffered by the demand side of the economy. But the longer the time horizon, the greater the dispersion in views. Thoughts on this recent Business Insider article? "The most important group of people in your career isn't your mentors — it's your friends" (link below) I tend to agree. Not because I think friends are more important than mentors, rather because friends were/are/and will always be there during all your lows and highs. They're your career and life advisors when you need them the most. If mentors are champions in your career, then friends are your cheerleaders in life and career. What are your thoughts on how friends and relationships play a role in your career? Comment below. Photo taken at Point Reyes, California: cc: Benna Iqbal Ngoc Tran Jessie Salas . …see more

Little Retail Prediction. + 2020 will be a great year for many large proficient physical retailers like Walmart, Tesco,,Carrefour etc. + BOPIS (buy online, pickup instore) will be massive ( and every agencies brief) + Shopify will move to become the company everyone admires - Amazon will really struggle and their shift towards insanely expensive unnecessarily fast delivery will be the worst decision they've made - Retailers built with physical and digital together, like Ocado, or Alibaba's Freshippo will slowly come of age - Direct to Consumer companies will largely fall out of favor as unit economics, CAC and subscription fatigue become a huge thing, and the dawn of realism about LTV and churn rates will hit everyone. We were not loyal, we were just a tiny bit intrigued - Every DTC brand on the planet will be lining up to get meetings with retail buyers, with their tail between their legs. …see more

The only posts in my feed now have hashtags and I loathe hashtags and the way people use them, so I guess you won’t be seeing my stuff for a while. We have to maintain an environment where peope with interesting things to say bubble up over people who game the system because they want to be heard.

Making complex topics simple to understand is a great talent. This James Burke explanation on fiber optics is a great example to consider as the art of helping people understand concepts; if you can do it charmingly as he does here, all the better. You can apply this to your pitch deck, try to break down your problem and solution to simple concepts and drop the jargon. #Innovation #Entrepreneurship #WeekendMusings Video Credits: Tomorrow's World …see more

Indian agricultural export can improve dramatically if we improve quality assurance through quality assessment tools and processes. I had a recent conversation on a podcast to which the host asked me, "how did you grow from 30k to 80k followers this year? What's your secret so I can grow, too!" Well, it's no secret, but rather a combination of things... Most importantly, I don't pretend to be anyone or anything else... because people can see right through the facade if you are playing one. This also means mastering your brand, voice, and values and create VIDEO content! Video is exceptionally strong and builds so much trust with strangers - but how do you do it RIGHT?! Well, don't FORCE it! Especially don't create content just to get numbers. Quantity doesn't always equal quality. I strike when the inspiration hits with batch creation! I share what I mean in this video in order to make more time for the important things in life... like health and wellness, adventures, and the projects that make all the magic happen! How do you create content? Do you schedule it or post when the inspiration hits? Who are your favorite creators and why are they your favorite?! Is it because of authenticity? A strong brand? Whatever you do, keep it real. #Innovation #SocialMedia #Marketing …see more
