It's a sad sign of the times that every aspect of Covid 19 is turned into a political battle between Red and Blue mindsets. To my mind, asking "is the cure worse than the disease" is not a remotely political question, it's a moral one. It's about humanity and saving lives. Trying to open an economy when the most vulnerable, poor, and young suffer the most, giving up human and constitutional rights in the face of a disease all seem like events which should not turn into bipartisan entrenchment, but people coming together to figure out what's best. Finding common ground, focusing on the future not the past, looking beyond blame to action, rising above emotion to logic, all seem vital right now.
