I absolutely hate anchovies, sauerkraut and fish eggs (YUCK!) and it still boggles my mind how many people LOVE that stuff. It's just like your personality. Not everyone is going to like you. That's the truth of the world. But that doesn't mean you should dull your flavors down. Those that love you will be hooked. When building your personal brand, Think about whom you SERVE. What does the perfect client look like to you? Which flavors will attract them? So do you dare to be that blue moon ice cream with rainbow sprinkles? I took that double-dog dare and turned it into a career. I've been called "a bit much" for my sparkly jacket and bubbly attitude, but the other side of the coin respects that individuality, enthusiasm, and expertise. Build your brand with CONFIDENCE. Stand for something, or you'll fall for anything. Don't dull your personality back. Be incredibly, uniquely you. What are FIVE keywords that describe your personality?! 👇👇👇 Let me help you with your personal brand. Drop me a message! Cheers! I was a terrible student. And out of college I had no idea where to start with my business. So I planned. So much that I had a plan for my plans. And none of it amounted to anything. I wish I did this instead: 1). Reverse engineer. What's the end goal? What steps can I take right now to get closer to my end goal? 2). How can I make money right now? Not how will I make money in the future, because that doesn't help you right now. A business needs cash flow to survive. 3). Take a look at my habits and be intentional about the habits that I was building. Humans are habitual beings. Focus on building a few good habits at a time that will help you get to that end goal. What advice would you give your younger self when you were just getting started in your career? Thank you for interviewing us Donovan . #justQ 🖤 …see more

One word to describe helping out my biggest event to date? Humbling. Humbled by the stories and experience of our speakers: Kyle Elliott, MPA, CHES (Career Coach) , Nichol Bradford , Carley Hauck , Gabriel Williams , Kwiri Yang , Gregg L. Witt , and Lauryn N. Nwankpa . Humbled by the incredible work of our team including Sam Park , Angela H. Chen , Michelle Kwok , Jeremy Becker , Jerry Lee , Jonathan Javier , Natasha Takahashi , and so many more. “'But nobody cares about my opinions,' they say. 'It would make me feel conspicuous.' 'They’ll care if you tell them something interesting,' I say 'and tell them in words that come naturally.'” - William Zinsser I've noticed that many people on LinkedIn feel like they don't have enough experience or expertise to start creating content. They leave it to this group of self-identified #LinkedInCreators as if the "creators" are the only ones able to give value to readers on the platform. I was reading Zinsser's On Writing Well for a class and found it incredibly relevant to why you shouldn't be afraid to put out LinkedIn content. While much of the platform's content can be technical, value doesn't have to come from verbose language and complicated analysis. Great content comes in many forms from many kinds of sources: students, CEOs, entry-level employees, stay-at-home parents, consultants, professors... I may be biased, but some of the best content I have seen is from my fellow students and young entrepreneurs. Check out some of my favorite people on LinkedIn who are creating real VALUE through their content and community building efforts.  - Frederick Daso - Tim Salau - Tiara Conley - Manu Goswami - Sam Park - Joel Hansen …see more

I couldn't leave the house for 3 months. I was depressed. I gained back all my weight and then another 30 lbs. Finally I had to either DIE or FEED my family. I was forced to choose myself. 👉 I started to exercise every day. Eat better. One item for breakfast. A healthy lunch. Tiny dinner. No snacks. 👉 I started to sleep 9 hours a day. 👉 I started to only be around people who loved and supported me. I broke off all ties with anyone who I felt bad to be around. 👉 I decided I wanted to help people every day and be honest every day. 👉 Every day I came up with ideas for new businesses. ...here's more …see more

The world recently celebrated #EarthDay on 22nd April. Nature Triumphs have been seen in many messages and images. Be it penguins wandering the main streets or clean canals in Venice or the cleaner Ganga, the clean air in polluted cites. We understand the negative impact of our large human footprint and lifestyle on other species and planet and everyone feels compelled and called to action for a better coexistence. Perhaps, despite the cost of #COVID19 in all our lives, it might help us grasp a movement towards sustainable lifestyles. I am sharing visitors in my garden right below my window. Most people tend to be afraid of snakes. I tend to like them. They play a key role in our ecology. I was glad for this rare sighting of two cobras not once but twice, in my garden and outside my house the other day. This was my Earth Day treat. #WeekendMusings …see more

Stop caring about what haters say about you. They aren't paying your bills. Nor do they care about you! There will be a point in your life where it doesn't matter. What they say won't hurt. What they think doesn't matter. We're not here to be popular. We're here to lead purposeful lives. To provide value. And sometimes there will be different opinions. That's okay. What you say is valid. What they say is valid too. What you say, what they say are: Different experiences. Different points of views. Much of the time, the hate is a reflection of their own internal struggles. Be stoic. Don't take it personally. Otherwise, you carry that energy and it will spiral you into a cycle of self-hate. I've been through that cycle. I learnt to build a thicker amour. I'm strengthened in my value of sharing knowledge. I walk my own path. The biggest obstacle is not their hate. Or critiques. It's us and our mindset. It's about how we deal with it. Do your thing. #stringstory on #personalbranding #personaldevelopment …see more
