People can't follow you if you don't know where you're going. ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฝโ€โ™‚๏ธ Clarity is everything. I'm an avid gamer and plan on owning an esports organization within the next few years. I'm obsessed with two games right now when it comes to character development: Overwatch & Apex Legends. - People relate to the characters in the game and get excited to play them. - The companies do a great job of explaining their back stories and relating skills to player play-styles. - There are communities built around each of these games and their characters. It's similar with your personal brand. You need to know WHY people should follow you. You need to know what separates you from others, what resonates with the community that you're building, and you need to be able to effectively communicate your story. Just something to think about. #justQ ๐Ÿ––๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ–ค โ€ฆsee more

Itโ€™s the first week of 2018! That means it's time to draft your goals - the goals that give you goosebumps, inspire you and make you want to jump out of bed in the morning. Use my R.E.A.D.Y. framework as your goal drafting guide. Make sure that your goals are R โ€“ Realistic E โ€“ Exciting A โ€“ Action-oriented D โ€“ Directive (meaning that they will actually point you in the direction you want to go) Y โ€“ Yours (not simply someone elseโ€™s goals for you) Want more support in drafting your goals? New emojis are coming later this year! My favorite ones: love face, pleading face, and infinity symbol. I still remember using emojis in the early days on instant messengers like Aim. Fast forward to today, emoji has integrated to become part of our natural lexicon.ย  In my TEDx last year, I asked the audience and viewers at home to describe themselves in seven emojis. Why emojis? Instead of using cliche adjectives to describe ourselves, I felt emojis was a more human way to describe who we are beyond just a professional. So many ways to describe yourself, here are some: Curious or nerdy? ๐Ÿค” ๐Ÿค“ ๐Ÿ’ก Adventurous or active? ๐Ÿšต ๐ŸŽท ๐Ÿ’ƒ Family person? ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ What are your seven emojis? Hemingway has undoubtedly influenced many writers and readers. Most of his work is a reminder of the hard times and how it shaped people in the world war era. His stories are still very apt, more so now perhaps in the times, we live in. His book 'The Old Man and the Sea' is a favourite, a story of overcoming defeat. But it's his book 'Winner Take Nothing' that made me think through. It is such a depressing book on what to do with life when no matter how much you try, you don't get where you want to. In fact, it then forces you to redefine the purpose of existence and how to reconcile to the vagaries of life. Sharing some of his best quotes. โ€ข Courage is grace under pressure. โ€ข The world breaks everyone, and afterward, many are strong at the broken places. โ€ข When people talk, listen completely. Most people never listen. โ€ข The first draft of anything is shit. โ€ข But man is not made for defeat. A man can be destroyed but not defeated. โ€ข There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self. #Motivation #Creativity #WhatInspiresMe โ€ฆsee more

Over 3 years ago I decided that I was going to create content. What I was really doing was creating a story. Commonalities I've found that people mention when they're retelling my story to me: ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿฝ Created +500 videos before anyone watched ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿฝ Totaled my car, girlfriend at the time left, burned through my savings, dog was hit by a car. ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿฝ Two failed companies before one found success. And while those things are true. As content creators we get so attached to our stories (because others do). So here is my challenge to myself: โœ… To be aggressive [like I was] and focus on creating more of my story. And pay attention to the narratives that people share. โœ… On podcasts, stage, etc. to pull out new stories instead of the big 3. โœ… To build something outside of my company: e.g. my new esports podcast and a gaming community. Don't get so attached to your stories that it keeps you from creating more. #justQ ๐Ÿ–ค #business #entrepreneurship โ€ฆsee more

A note for those who don't understand why we had to shut the world down for this pandemic. This new virus led to a significant death toll in weeks, there are no treatment protocols, or thousands of peer-reviewed studies, no experience and knowledge in textbooks. Therefore, we had to shut down the world to let the medical workforce do its best until they can deal with it. Without the lockdowns, there would be peaks of cases in the span of days, leading to tens of millions of avoidable deaths, an overwhelmed medical workforce, and even mroe uncertainty about when we can go back to our lives. All this turns out to be a moment for #digitalhealth to shine. Telemedicine has become the norm in many countries to avoid exposure to infections. 3D printing technologies help support the broken supply chains of medical and protective equipment. Chatbots help those who face mental health challenges. Artificial intelligence helps prepare for the spread of the virus, reorganize supplies and help prioritize patients at higher risk for a severe disease. Apps all over the digital health specturm assist those who stay at home and still try to live a healthy lifestyle. As the pandemic passes, and it will, I hope the openness for these technologies will remain with us forever. #covid19 โ€ฆsee more

Re economic data out of Europe: A big bounce in June PMI's -- from May's 32 to 47.5 for the Eurozone, and 30 to 47.6 for the UK (chart below). This sharp recovery exceeded consensus expectations. Iโ€™ve never read a book on sales. They seemed corny. Like many people, I always looked down on the concept of โ€œselling.โ€ It seemed like something lower than me. To some extent, selling appears manipulative. You have a product where you give the perception it has more value than it has in reality. So you need to manipulate people to buy it. This seems sad, as in โ€œDeath of a Salesmanโ€ sort of sad. I was a salesman snob. I was wrong. And for the past 25 years all I have been doing is selling. Selling products, selling services, selling businesses, selling myself. So here are the rules of this cheat sheet: None of this comes from a book. All of this is from my own experience. Which means it might not work for you. Which means it might go counter to the basic rules of #salesmanship. I have no idea.ย  http://bit.ly/2FWxZnJ โ€ฆsee more
