The NBER Digest is a great way to stay updated on some of the latest research by leading economists. The June edition has two articles that I found particularly interesting. The lead article looks at research on how to better balance lives and livelihoods in this life-with-COVID phase. A recent paper suggests that, relative to a lockdown (and if socio-politically feasible), "semi-targeted" approaches could safe more lives AND reduce economic losses. The second article summarizes work on whether markets' faith in the "Fed Put" is consistent with the Federal Reserve's reactions to market downturns. Optimity - A habit building & tracking app that connects across your existing productivity apps. Headspace Inc. - My go-to meditation app. I've been using it more recently for meditation in between meetings. "Brain Food" playlist on Spotify - Music to help you focus and zone in on big projects. Health habits - Drinking green tea as my only source of caffeine. Sticking to a workout routine. Only working in certain rooms of my house as "workspaces". I wish I understood in college that learning doesn’t end when you graduate. I wish I understood that learning cam come from people who you report to and the people who report to you. You don’t have to run after people that have had careers longer than you for information. People have different experiences and everyone has something to share.
