Jonah Berger recently shared this with me on his new book, The Catalyst: "Salespeople want to change the client’s mind and marketers want to shift consumer behavior. Employees want to change their boss’s mind and leaders want to transform organizations. Parents want to change their children’s behavior, startups want to change industries, and non-profits want to change the world. But change is hard. We make pitch after pitch, send email after email, and make sales call after sales call, but often nothing happens. I started wondering if there might be a better way." Would love to hear your thoughts & feedback in the comments! …see more

Kitchen or living room? to be or not to be?🤔 As this situation continues I understand that I can't keep working from the kitchen(in my case also the living room) and I need an office space. Last week AppsFlyer gave us 300$ to buy office equipment in order to have a convenient work environment (thanks AppsFlyer!). I took it very seriously and decided on a new home office project, which is very challenging in a 40-meter apartment😂 WDYT? it's still in process. All human behavior — especially distraction — can be traced back to an internal trigger. The mind sends us signals and compels us to act so that we may escape discomfort. Think of it as our mind’s version of homeostasis. All our actions are responses to such triggers. We check Facebook when we’re lonely, we Google when we feel uncertainty, and YouTube out of boredom. If we remain unaware of our triggers, we are likely to get distracted by one thing or another. Our instantaneous responses make products like these habit-forming. Here are some ways I recommend getting the upper hand on distraction: -Note the sensation: Notice when you are distracted and name the emotional trigger. -Crowd out with curiosity: Be inquisitive rather than judgemental about your triggers. -Surf the urge: Give yourself a few minutes to sit with the sensation. Give it time to subside by bringing attention to it for a few minutes before allowing yourself to get distracted. Before you can beat distraction, you need to understand where it’s coming from. Do you have any other tips for overcoming distraction? #Indistractable #Hooked #InternalTriggers #HumanBehavior #BehaviorScience #Habits …see more

There was a lot of backlash for Rise of the Tomb Raider back in 2015. The game was exclusive for the Xbox One during the first year. Instead of shutting comments down— Microsoft and Crystal Dynamics turned criticism into excitement. And created the "Survival Billboard" Campaign: 8 gamers standing on platforms. 1 blizzard. Public control via a live internet stream. The results? 3.5 million viewers in just 22 hours! They used the oldest marketing tool known to man (a billboard). But with data and innovation, they drove maximum engagement. The audience quickly became part of the narrative. And in the end, millions bought the game. Give consumers an experience they won't forget. #justQ 🖖🏽🖤 …see more

Are you an emotionally intelligent leader? Here are three ways you might not have as much EQ as you think (and what to do instead): 1. You pride yourself on speaking your mind. While candor in the workplace can be valuable, not every thought should be voiced immediately (or maybe, ever), especially in an emotionally-charged situation. Instead: Press the pause button. Emotionally intelligent people understand the power of taking a beat to digest and consider information before responding to it. 2. You treat every employee you manage the same. You're trying to be fair, so you employ the same management methods with every member of your team, regardless of their needs, and expect them to conform. Instead: Move away from a one-size-fits-all mentality. People are individuals, with unique needs. Take the time to learn about what your direct reports need, and then adapt your style to serve them. 3. You're "coin-operated." Being "coin-operated" means you're motivated by money—and little else. Instead: Find motivation in the challenge. When you believe passionately in your products and services, you're motivated to help find and provide solutions and value to your customers. #leadership #EQ #emotionalintelligence #career #softskills …see more

BREAKING NEWS: Haven is shutting down. The masterplan of the big three, Amazon , Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway and J.P. Morgan Chase, got crashed as Haven was just announced to end its operations at the end of February. What it means for us in digital health: * Big money alone cannot break into the healthcare business as they simply lack the expertise, experience and knowledge about the regulatory environment (among other things). What it doesn't mean for us: * That tech companies will still play a major role in the future of care with the products they can bring to the table (instead of creating a different form of healthcare like Haven attempted). Just look at Amazon's recent efforts with providing remote care for their employees in Seattle, owning online pharmacy PillPack, and launching plans to ship prescriptions to Prime members. #themedicalfuturist #digitalhealth #future #healthcare #medicine #technology …see more

A new technique based on deep learning can shorten some brain surgeries. During brain cancer operations, surgeons must stop in mid-operation for up to half an hour while they send the tissue to the lab where a pathologist analyzes it. A new test powered by deep learning does the same but within the operating room, with spectroscopy, and in only a few minutes. They trained the network to recognize 13 cancer types that account for around 90 percent of observed brain tumors and measured its performance in a clinical trial (the first trial of a deep learning application in the operating room, they said). We are getting one step closer to taking full advantage of A.I. at surgeries! https://lnkd.in/gSenxd4 #themedicalfuturist #digitalhealth #future #healthcare #medicine #technology #fromchancetochoice #artificialintelligence #ai #deeplearning #surgery …see more

How do you deal with perfection? Many times I feel I can’t execute ideas until I know it 100%. ANSWER: #Perfectionism only leads to eventual shame or regret. Nobody is perfect, and there’s always the chance of the unknown occurring in every work. And, when the perfectionist loses control of an event, project, business, etc. then what happens? Shame results. Embarrassment with colleagues, friends, bosses, investors, and family. So my #advice: if you have an idea for a project: Start it. Start it right now. Spec out the minimal features you need, hire a programmer (use Scriptlance), or find a customer, and just get started. Even if you are not 100% ready. …see more
