I've always been Mr. Wonderful, but I haven't always been this financially free (or bald)! This week, I'm talking all about how I made my first million. https://lnkd.in/dSsqCX6

I am a big fan of #SridharVembu like many others. He is a #visionary and cares for the greater interests of the community at large. His initiative of #WFH with 'Work from hometown' is laudable and I hope more companies emulate this. We need to create job opportunities to create a more equitable society and prosperity that is shared among more people. Zoho Corporation …see more

Cracked open a bottle of a fantastic Chardonnay and the next thing I knew I put down this little 3 track ditty. At least I won’t have to pay any royalties when I play it!

The gift of spaceflight is a shared perspective. That’s why Virgin Galactic called our spaceship, Unity. So, with our next test flight window opening soon and Valentine’s Day just around the corner, we’ve been making space for love, inside our spaceship. We know that so many people around the world are separated from loved ones right now. We want to give you the chance to write a message to someone special and we’ll have it nicely designed and printed before stowing it safely aboard Unity ready for her next flight. We’ll post it back after the flight for you to send on, as a message of inspiration, optimism for the future and most of all – love! We’ll take as many messages as possible, but at some stage we’ll have to close the cabin door, so it’s first come, first served! Noreply@ emails Should be entirely illegal, but until that time they should just be considered incredibly rude. We spend several hundred billion dollars a year trying to talk to our customers and then when, in a rare, fleeting, magical moment they want to talk to us, we decide it’s not worth our time to even have an inbox where we can potentially listen. Company’s spend several hundred million dollars on ‘how did we do’ nonsense NPS software , yet can’t be bothered to access really rich, interesting, volunteered quant data for free, and get to help our customers while it matters . It’s nuts. …see more

If you go on a racist rant, you've finished your career. And, if that's the kind of person you really are, your career SHOULD be finished.
Two charities I support, Made By Dyslexia and Big Change , are both hidden behind doors on the Advent of Change calendar this year. Kristina has also expanded into Christmas crackers – each one containing a joke – including one from yours truly: https://virg.in/Rmh …see more
I’ve got so many fond memories of Bondi, and it’s such a hub for active, positive people, so it’s the perfect place for Virgin Active to open our 11th club in Australia https://virg.in/iXU
This is an opportunity. That does not mean it won’t be difficult. We will have to adapt to new roles and businesses will have to change. But if we accept the challenge, we will be better off. There is a light at the end of this tunnel. This will end. We can choose to come out of this stronger than when we started. In a recent interview with CNBC, Simon shared his tips on how leaders and all professionals can pursue that goal while working together as a team. #TogetherisBetter #TrustingTeams …see more
This was Marie Curie's response to a reporter seeking an interview during a vacation with her husband, who had mistaken Marie for a housekeeper, and asked her if there was anything confidential she could recount! Somethings remain the same, reporters looking for a scoop and women being undermined. I know even today, many women founders and executives are routinely mistaken as the secretary or worse. Marie Curie's life has lessons and inspiration for everyone. She won the Nobel prize twice - 1903 in Physics, 1911 in Chemistry. She was the first woman to win a Nobel and the first person to win two Nobels. She was very modest, loved discussing ideas, and encouraged those around her to have perseverance. #WomenInScience #WhatInspiresMe #Motivation …see more
Dear recruiters, I know you have an extremely difficult job. The hiring market is white hot and getting worse (better, for candidates) by the hour. We all get pinged repeatedly, daily. I mostly don't mind. However, here are a few rules you should follow to help you improve your contact:hire ratio and not turn candidates off to your pitch: 1) Don't email candidates at work. Just don't. It's incredibly unprofessional. If you email me at work (and I get these daily), you are guaranteed to be blocked and added to Junk Mail. 2) Take the time to read candidate profiles to see where their interests lie, where they are in their careers, and how your role would help them get ahead. Emailing blindly for stuff that clearly doesn't fit just turns candidates off. 3) Don't force a fit. Ever. For any reason. Don't lie. Be as transparent as possible about the opportunity. You're talking to a highly educated populous with access to data and inside company networks that you don't have. We're not dumb and we do our own research. Start with this. Adhere to integrity and first principles. Candidates actually like hearing from you about opportunities they may not otherwise have. What they don't like is to be pestered, intruded upon, and lied to. Thank you for considering the feedback. …see more
