It seemed very sensible to Lockdown the world like we did at the time. But I'm amazed that we now default to keeping the economy closed, lives ruined, businesses collapsing every day, unless we find "proof that nothing bad has happened" Surely the default is for the world to be open? People should be free, able to work, able to live, unless there is ample evidence each day to keep a lockdown. Surely the burden of proof is on those who want to take away the rights we have. Obviously we are right to worry most about those perishing from starvation, dying from delayed cancer diagnosis, suicide or delayed operations. We can ponder on the medium sized issues, those who've lost livelihoods, those who are unable to see loved ones in Hospitals perish, tourist towns destroyed. But there are Billions of accumulated "small" problems. The "first world problems" that add up immeasurably. People suffering from loneliness and bad mental and physical health. Married couples unable to see each other, families trapped in different countries, kids educations suffering, entire lives on hold from uncertainty, the sense that we're all failing to feel alive and losing any sense of meaning. All all based on no evidence.
