Have you ever met someone who moves through the world in a remarkably different way? For me, that rare leader is my friend Lonnie Mayne . He takes the time to truly see people, making them feel heard, understood, appreciated, and valued. He stands out for the positive in everything he does, whether he’s in line at a Starbucks or giving a keynote. And it’s infectious. Every person who comes in contact with Lonnie leaves that exchange uplifted and energized, spreading that good energy to others in a virtuous cycle. Lonnie's new book, which launched today on Amazon, explains how (and why) Lonnie does this. It is a simple yet powerful way to connect with other people in business—and life. I’m not kidding when I say this book will change your life. Bruce Kasanoff and I volunteered our Park City Think Tank as the publisher of this stunning work because Lonnie’s Red Shoes philosophy deeply resonated with us. We're not out to make money; our goal is to spread Lonnie's heartfelt and profound messages. A link to his book is in my comment below. #bookrelease #leadership #positivity …see more

What do you treasure? What are your priorities? Everything cannot be a priority. The sooner you admit this, the easier it becomes to focus on your real priorities.
Why can’t you get your work done at work? Because you don’t have a work day, you have work moments. We are constantly interrupted at our offices. And the two biggest culprits are managers and meetings. Jason Fried in his Ted Talk, Why Work Doesn’t Happen at Work, offers three strategies for actually getting work done at work. …see more

You know what works really well still, despite what a rabid news environment whips up, common sense. The idea we are all stupid, nasty, with bad intentions, is a horrible new idea. Trust people, assume they mean well and be rewarded. Try to squash people, assume they are stupid, threaten them or remove their freedom and yes, people act out. But trust, value and empower people and just see how much better that works out for all. …see more

There are more, but this is long enough. …see more

I got my first #blackberry in 1999. And my first #iphone in 2012. I had withdrawal anxiety from letting go of my blackberry. But loyalty can wear off. Startups often talk about creating customer loyalty. But retaining your loyal customers and listening to them gets much less attention from management. Blackberry made me think and understand how companies lose their lead in innovation, market share and finally lose their most loyal customers. …see more
