Totally agreed with the point to create space for “employees to talk about failure” and focus on growing out of those to be more effective. However, I’m not sure how well talking about failures extensively in job interviews would serve the candidate. Mostly because it takes a lot of training for “the interviewers” to ensure they utilize questions around failure properly. #jobinterviews …see more

You can't even imagine how many times I've been asked "How do you see the future?" In fact, futurists don't see the future - that's fortune-tellers who claim so. Instead, futurists think about possible upcoming scenarios by systematically studying trends and data available. Forecasting needs a skill-set and a lot of practicing and hard work - this is how you can learn it too. #forecasting #future #futurism #FutureOfHealthcare #DigitalHealth …see more

My first inclination was to express surprise at what counts as a "slide" these days. What I suspect is going on however relates to something else we have been interacting on--strong buy the dip conditioning in markets. Accordingly, such headlines can become outdated quite quickly. #markets #investing #economy #equities …see more

Today's notably choppy markets encapsulated the competing technicals impacting stocks (also illustrated by the price action of the previous 4 sessions). After opening higher, all 3 indices ended 1.5-2.0% lower...with the NASDAQ (chart below, along with that or the Dow) going from out- to under-performer during the day. #markets #stocks #investing #equities #economy …see more

Quite a late session U turn in #markets with S&P and Dow ending the day down 0.4-0.7%, respectively (the NASDAQ lost 1.8%); and The #dollar index (DXY) turning higher. Interestingly, the yield on 10-year #bonds retained most of its prior move up and #gold closed some 5% lower. …see more

A weak close, with the Dow ending the trading session down over 400 points (1.8%) ... taking this quarter's loss to 23% (worse since 1987). The S&P and NASDAQ fell 1.6% and 1.0% for the day. The next few days will help shed light on the extent to which end-quarter re-balancing flows shielded the markets from revisiting the lows. #markets #volatility #stockmarket #interestrates #stocks #forex #investmentmanagement #stockmarket #stocks #equities #investmentmanagement #selloff #equities #trading #centralbanks #selloff #yields #bonds #federalreserve #fed #ecb #monetarypolicy #gold #fx #eurozone #liquidity #fixedincome #cnbc #emergingmarkets #inflation #currency #assetallocation …see more

The Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) market is projected to reach over $72 billion worldwide by 2024. Augmented Reality (AR) is a big business and has been for years, reaching consumer consciousness from the first commercial use of AR technology in a 2008 BMW advertisement. Pioneers such as Pokémon GO and Snapchat, which have been using AR as part of their social platforms for a while, have paved the way for AR to hit the mainstream. The lack of new business cases has kept AR back, but with the technology now growing in popularity, this will change in 2021 as a result of the pandemic. There are times I think Politicians can't possibly be as sinister or stupid as they appear, but then something like the UK Quarantine happens and the sheer idiocy is clear. When you have people in secure large spaces before & after they travel, why not administer a Covid test that gives results in an hour? Are you really that concerned about traveller's from other countries arriving, when 185 countries on the planet have had fewer cases per population. Allowing people to enter a country, use public transit then stay home , to be checked on by the police for 14 days is like having no passport control and just asking people where they live and finding them when they've all dispersed. All based on the idea that the UK is somehow under threat when it's one of the most infected countries on the planet. The cost of this stupidity is mind-blowing. …see more
